the magic of being a child

Yesterday my daughter emailed me all excited about a book she had bought Ada for Christmas. My daughter has always been an avid reader and gets attached to things in an obsessive way, (a very good obsession). :) She was wanting me to see if I could make Ada a rag doll for Christmas, like the one in the book. I went immediately to work trying to find a pattern I liked, I didn't, so I started out trying to create one. The photo of the rag doll above is what I ended up with at around 1-2 a.m. this morning. I have some tweaking to do, but am thrilled with the way she turned out.

I love making things for the kids to help with creating wonderful childhood memories. I am very curious as to what Ada will name her. :)

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend before Thanksgiving. If you're like me, you've got lots to do. My little ones will be here on Tuesday. Yeah!!!!

“Think for a minute, darling: in fairy tales it's always the children who have the fine adventures. The mothers have to stay at home and wait for the children to fly in the window.”
