My daughter does a fabulous job of allowing her kids to be who they are, not molding them into who or what she wants them to be. She allows Ada to choose her own clothes, it doesn't matter if it matches or how many stares they might get. I LOVE that! Ada will let her mom dress her, but, if Ada wants to wear something else or dress herself, her mom has no problem with it.
I, for one, believe this is great for nurturing self-confidence and a healthy outlook.
Ada's style is original and perfect! She isn't afraid to be her own self. :) My prayer for her is that she will never lose herself in the expectations of others.
She never leaves home without Woody. Her brother has Hobbes, she has Woody.
If only we never lost the innocence of being who we "really" are, life would not be so damn stressful.

“That's what makes it so right. Your eyes-- your soul is there, but the rest of you is still so undefined. That's the beauty of childhood. The eyes show everything you've seen so far, but the rest of you is still so open to possibility, to whatever you might become.”

i love this. your daughter is a good mother. i suspect that this has something to do with the fact that she has a good mother, too. ;)
