The past few days have been tough for me with the horrific shooting that took place in Newtown, CT. I will confess up front that I am "anti gun"! My belief is a gun has one purpose, to kill.
It would be nice to lay my head on the pillow at night and know that my two daughters, son-9n-laws, and the four little angels in my life can go to a mall, school, restaurant, movie theater, etc., without being fearful of someone carrying a concealed weapon and using it.
What has happened in Newtown IS too much for the heart to endure. My heart is breaking for all those directly and indirectly affected by this horrific crime.
On a happier note, my daughter had her Christmas Tea today. She LOVES having teas. She fell in love with teas after we lived in Europe and her best friend introduced her to them. This was a nice time for her and her friends to gather and talk about their fears for their children. Support is very important. It's always good when you can talk to others who have the same fears and concerns as a parent - it helps one to understand that they are not alone in their fears. And hopefully, it will ease some of the anxiety they are dealing with at the moment. She lives close to Aurora, CO, where the shooting took place not long ago. :(
Too much killing going on. It's time for it to stop!
