a day of color

“Mere color, unspoiled by meaning, and unallied with definite form, can speak to the soul in a thousand different ways. ”

“Why do two colors, put one next to the other, sing? Can one really explain this? no. Just as one can never learn how to paint.”

― Pablo Picasso

People observe the colors of a day only at its beginnings and its ends, but to me it's quite clear that a day merges through a multitude of shades and intonations, with each passing moment. A single hour can consist of thousands of different colors. Waxy yellows, cloud-spat blues. Murky darknesses. In my line of work, I make it a point to notice them. ”

“Love has a shape, but no color. You’re probably wondering, “If it’s transparent, how do you know what shape it is?” Good question. Well, for one thing, I put it together, and for another, I’m currently wearing it like body armor (though to the casual observer, I appear naked).

If these walls could talk...

I love color, pattern, and textures; an eclectic decor. I like too many colors and styles to ever go with any one color or style. I like changing things around on a daily basis, too often some would say. I happened upon some neat rooms from http://www.decorare.tumblr.com/ All images below are from this wonderful decorating blog.

As much as I love light, bright and airy, I, personally, lean to dark and cozy.

The rooms below just look like they have a story to tell. Don't you think?

This bedroom reminds me of some of the English and Irish B&B I have stayed in.

I love everything about this room. The chair is just awesome!

I love this cozy bedroom, but...I could never sleep with all the books over my head.

I probably have this many books. Seriously.

I like. :)

Shop Green

Mexican Baskets

Nicaragua Baskets

Baskets are one way I shop green. While living in Germany I did all my shopping using baskets. This way of life continued after I returned to the states. I get a few stares now and then with a cart full of baskets; living in the Midwest you can expect that. I don't mind at all. I've been doing it for so long that it does not bother me. These are some of the types I use. I love the colorful ones.
