night moon

Beauty is a form of genius--is higher, indeed, than genius, as it needs no explanation. It is of the great facts in the world like sunlight, or springtime, or the reflection in dark water of that silver shell we call the moon. ~Oscar Wilde

Sweet! Someone else who takes pictures of the moon. Gorgeous shot too.

Yes, Di, it certainly was. I always grab my camera when there is a beautiful moon, of any kind. :)

Kate, I will try and get this done tonight, if time permits. If not, then I'll get it tomorrow.

ennui, Me too! Thank you, I was a bit surprised it turned out so well with my little camera - a nice surprise.

Peter, he was, indeed right.:)

vvbug, I grab my camera for everything.:) Thank you, I was quite happy with the shot.

beautiful. You probably already saw some of the moon shots on my web site that we also took. You have added the poetic and deep thoughts that really stand out, however. I also liked the dialogue you started on Maxfield. I quite enjoyed my visit to your site. I signed up as a follower and look forward to more great visits.

Again, I am impressed with your photo composition! And it could almost pass as a painting, if not for the slight grain.
It really is no wonder why our moon is a muse for many an artist, poet, writer... It can inspire such awe!

Julie, your words are uplifting, thank you. I love for you to visit as often as you'd like. I love your blog, and your photos, well...they are magnificent and pure delight.

It was interesting to find out that we all view Maxfield's art so differently. As long as we are all looking through a different set of eyes and different life experiences, we'll see and hear things differently.

Thank you for following my blog. xo

Hey Anthony, good to see you! How was your weekend? We have storm warnings out. It's ok as long as no one gets hurt or has damage to their home. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE storms!

Well, you are just too darn nice to me with your wonderful comments - but I love it.:) I was so surprised when the photo came out at all, it was dark and I had to shoot with a flash. I was thrilled that it turned out as well as it did.

You are so right about the moon being a muse for us, it does inspire.

Cool picture. Yesterday we got my 5 year old glow in the dark stars and moon (whole and cresent) to put on her ceiling but we have a major pack (Target) and so we are doing the constellations. after we get it done I should take a pic of them glowing.

Lenore, you're great!!! gosh, I wish I were in Japan with you, having way more fun than is legal. :) Take care, have lots and lots of fun!!! XO back at ya!

Gina, that is so cool! I have thought about putting them on my ceiling.:) I think they look so neat when lying in bed and looking up. I saw a home on HGTV one time, where they had an open roof bedroom, in Africa. Can you imagine how cool that would be? I think I would pray more if I could look at the open sky at night, but of course I would want all the comforts of a nice, cozy bed and covers.:) Your daughter is just gorgeous! I bet she will love going to sleep with stars in her eyes. Do take a picture, I can't wait to see it.

I love the moon... but I forget sometimes that it is there, until, like Saturday night, it came out in all its full glory and spoke to me.
Breathtaking!
Thanks Debra...

PS -- I came back to comment on a post that seems to have magically disappeared! I always get a surprise when tuning into you... Was it an apparition or a dream?
Hmmmm

Linda, thanks for visiting. xo

Sabine, I have to tell you that I love your name, it's one of my favorites. :) Thanks for the visit and comment.

David, glad the moon got your attention over the weekend, it was a sight to behold.

lol the post sort of disappeared, for a short time anyways. I wasn't crazy about the art I had chosen to go with the post, making it not feel right. Soon as I decide which art to attach to the post, it will magically appear.:)

Hope your weekend was pleasant!

First cup of coffee. Yesssssssssss. I love my java way to much! How do you like that machine btw? We're thinking of getting a Keurig.

Sixpence and A Blue Moon said...

Binoy, lots of passion...yes. There is something magical about the moon... Thank you for stopping by. Hope you're doing well.

Hi Kristin, I am guilty of drinking too much coffee. I am trying to cut back, but it is my one bad vice. Well, too much is a bad thing and I drink too much of it.

I like it a lot. At first, I wasn't crazy about it, but I found a coffee that I like. The one nice thing, no mess, no coffee grounds. There are a lot of coffees available for this machine. I like the Paul Newman brand best. You get samples with the machine, so you get to try several different kinds. There is also a hot chocolate that you get to sample. Thanks for stopping by!!! Have a great evening!
