Picture Perfect

When I looked out the window late yesterday evening, this beautiful sunset is what I saw. It changed fast; reminding me how quickly time passes - and at the time, we seldom see it. Living right in the city makes it hard to get good photos, there are buildings on all sides. I was pretty happy with these from my little point and shoot camera.:)

Amazing sky and captures! I know about the passing of those... it always seems like they're going to stick around until I get back with my camera, or pull off the road at a safe and good vantage point, but they almost always disappear within a short moment or two. And, you're right, this is a good metaphor to live by... I'm happy you took quick action and grasped the opportunity -- from which we now all benefit!

PS -- Did I say WOW... I certainly should have!

OK, I'm sorry for commenting yet again, but the more I look at the expanded versions of these, the deeper the beauty becomes. Just incredible.

Hi David! I am thrilled you enjoyed the sunset. I am amazed that I captured this, as it felt a little bit like an out-of-body experience at the time. Since I am not a photographer and any good photos are purely accidental. I could not be happier with these quick snapshots. Like you, by the time I grab my camera and get to a spot to take the pics, the brilliance has faded. Nature always makes my heart beat a little faster, giving me a new perspective on life. I was doing some reflecting on life yesterday, when the beauty and the fading beauty so quickly came and went.

I love your comments! Thanks.

Have a wonderful Sunday. xo

What a gorgeous sunset. I'll be on the lookout tonight for a sunset like that, although I don't think we get any that nice. Great shots.

Di, It was a blaze.:) xoxo

Shopgirl, We don't get too many this great, quite unusual to get them as lovely as this one. Or maybe I just miss them when they are this spectacular?

I haven't seen any sunsets like that in, like, forever. Maybe if the rain ever quits...

Absolutely gorgeous! I haven't seen a stunning sunset like that since I came back from Arizona over 12 years ago.

It really DOES look like the sky is on fire! Just absolutely beautiful. Almost looks like a painting...

How is your niece doing? She IS still recovering, right?

Wow - your sunset photos are gorgeous!

Thanks so much for your kind thoughts and words about my Dad. He is doing ok (out of the hospital, but not recovering as quickly as we'd hoped). I'm still not sure he'll be able to make it to my wedding in Florida in 2 weeks. It breaks my heart, but I don't want him to risk his life just to be there. My sis has thoughtfully offered to throw us a simple second wedding in Texas in August, so Dad could still walk me down the isle. Anyway, it really means so much to me how sweet and supportive my blogger pals have to me been through all of this!

Had to revisit these... wonderful, beautiful, inspiring... my words don't do them justice, they affect me so deeply.

Sorry, the SM legal department advised me not to leave another comment, but because I needed to, they insisted I include this.

Watching a sunset is like watching a drive-in movie. Superman, my boyfriend, and I sit in our kayaks and lean back to watch the sky float into all the heavenly colors. Your pictures captured a visual candy bar of sky and melting crayons. Beautiful! I found you through David. You're stuck with me now. i just hung my picture up in your place. ;-)
