Chocolat...Inspiration...Spicy Hot Chocolate

After I watched the movie “Chocolat”, I started experimenting with creating my own “spicy hot chocolate” recipe. After combining many batches of cocoa and spices and gaining an additional 3 lbs from taste testing, I finally came up with one I LOVE. It is full of different spices, including cayenne pepper, giving it a WOW kick. I buy only Dutch Cocoa from Holland, I do not like Hershey cocoa/chocolate. I had only a half cup, had to create a small batch of it today.

Of course, one must add fresh whipped cream...or homemade marshmallows.

That's a very good idea for a Christmas present,is the recipe a secret? :)

And I love that film. Chocolat & Johnny Depp (topless) at the same time? Heaven. :))

Yummm. That movie is mine and my husbands favorite movie. I can't even count how many times I have watched it.

Hey Poppy, sorry I haven't responded to your comment sooner. No, the recipe is not a secret, but...I am going to have to measure before I can give it to you. I do use equal amounts of cocoa and sugar (you may like it a little sweeter, I do not) then I add cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, dried orange peel, cloves, and cayenne pepper. I'll measure the next batch so I can tell you exactly how much I use. :) Oh yes...I agree...not much better than Johnny Depp topless. xoxo

SB, I will share this as soon as I know the exact amounts. I did list the ingredients above. You can experiment if you brave.:) Just do not add too much cayenne pepper.:) Have a beautiful week! xoxo

Hello Darling Friend! I would love to have some homemade marshmallows about now.:) Have you made them before? They are easy to make, I just do not make them often. We just got home from the ER. Another afternoon/evening spent at the hospital. David was bleeding from his nose and ears. They were concerned he was bleeding inside, especially since they have to keep his blood so thin. His INR was ok, so they sent us home and told us to watch it. He has had a nose bleed since Thursday, which is not that unusual, but when he started bleeding from his ears, I freaked out. Guess we'll watch it close tonight. If I do not talk to you or see you before Thanksgiving, have a blessed and great one! xoxo

Amy, you have a wonderful son! Thanks so much for your visit to my blog. xoxo

Carolyn, do you think there is any man as much loved as JD? I don't think so. Have a wonderful week! xoxo

Hello Melissa, I know, like you, I can't count how many times I have watched this movie. It's one of my favorites, one I will never grow tired of watching. :) xoxo
