A New Year...New Hopes and Dreams...New Possibilities.

New Year’s Day is always my favorite day of the year. For some strange reason, I feel for a brief few hours out of each year that the possibilities are endless and miracles are possible. Throughout each year, I am constantly talking to myself, trying to convince my mind and heart of these things, but for a few ticking moments, I really do believe it. It’s a nice feeling.

My New Year’s Resolutions are:

Be more positive and less negative.
Give more to my favorite charities.
Think longer before speaking.
Forgive the unforgivable.
Love the unlovable.
Let go of past hurts.
Spend more time with nature.
Write more poetry.
Pray.
Expect less from others (and myself).
Love without fear.

OK, now I am depressed. I know how hard some (actually, all) of these things will be for me. Oh well…I must try, huh.

Hope everyone has a blessed and wonderful 2011.

There are paths I travel down, leaving parts of me along the way
so that, I can return one day.

These are very good resolutions and I agree, they will be difficult at times. I especially need to work one about thinking more before speaking. I've had a problem with that one lately for some reason. My opionions seem to be bursting forth sometimes when they shoudn't : ) I think we should just try our best and we'll be fine. I'm sending positive thoughts your way for the new year. Have a peaceful and joyful beginning to 2011.

Happy New Year Jo! Thanks so much for stopping by, it's so nice to see your smiling, beautiful face. May the New Year bring you nothing but joy and happiness, good fortune and good health. xOx

LadyCat, I agree that all we can do is do our best. I'm guilty of saying things without thinking of how it will impact another. I really do need to zipper my mouth.:) Wishing you a wonderful and peaceful year with lots of joy and happiness. xOx

what a lovely post! thanks for stopping by the keybunch. that quilt you liked is made by village women. some of them travel around in search of work (they landed on my parents' estate) and that's how i got a shot of this one :) it's made from discarded rags...

hope ur 2011 turns out wonderful!

Sharon, thanks for coming by to say "hello". I find all things India very interesting and intriguing. I love the vibrant colors Indians use in their art, homes, food, etc. I have never been to India, maybe one day.:) I make quilts and that is very much like the type of quilts I make.

Wishing you a most wonderful New Year - may all good things come to you in 2011.

Laura, such sweet and kind words you write. Thank YOU! Thank you for following.

Unfortunately, I know my own shortcomings. :) Hopefully, one day I will be successful at changing some of the things that I should change.

Have a wonderful day, week, and year! xOx
