I'm stuck on this song today, or, it is stuck on me - not sure which. I love the lyrics...and what a voice!
Happiness hit her like a train on a track
Coming towards her stuck still no turning back
She hid around corners and she hid under beds
She killed it with kisses and from it she fled
With every bubble she sank with her drink
And washed it away down the kitchen sink
The dog days are over
The dog days are done
The horses are coming
So you better run
Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father
Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your love and your longing behind
You cant carry it with you if you want to survive
The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
Because here they come
And I never wanted anything from you
Except everything you had and what was left after that too, oh
Happiness hit her like a bullet in the head
Struck from a great height by someone who should know better than that
The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
Because here they come
Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father
Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your loving, your loving behind
You cant carry it with you if you want to survive
The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
Because here they come
The dog days are over
The dog days are done
The horses are coming
So you better run

I LOVE this song!!! I have it in my itunes favorites playlist. Such a great sound and I love the lyrics, too. Thanks for sharing it here : )
LOVE LOVE LOVE this piece - and weirdly enough, i wrote a piece sometime ago that reminds me of this song - AND - an image of a herd of wild horses accompanied the words -
are you familiar with her piece called "howl"? you'll love it, too!
I like this song, but it has been so overplayed on the radio where I live that I soon got sick of it even though it is a really good song. :-/ I'm glad it makes you all smile though :)
Ladycat, She is one talented singer. I love her style. :) Thank you for visiting. xOx
Me too, girl. I am not familiar to the piece "howl". I'm going to have to check it out. Love ya! xOx
Adrielle, I know what you mean about songs being over-played. I don't listen to the radio very often, so if I do get burned out on a song, it is of my own doing. :) You so sweet to always stop by. I hope to have more time to spend on my blog, where I can be more consistent, like you guys.:) xOx
