the dude

This little dude came by for a visit today; and he did make my day. I think I may have been a bug or insect in a past life, (lol) cause they love my taking photos of them. He would literally pose for me; after every snap of the camera, he would do something different, show a different pose.

Have you ever seen a cuter face!? It was as though he was smiling at me. ( I just know he was).

I know I am showing a lot of photos this round, but I took tons more.:) Click on them to see the detail of this little guy - he's very handsome!

Thought for today...

It does little good to say you want something, and then, "just in case", prepare to do without.
Burn your bridges.

Can you believe that smile?

He has a good life.

What magnificent colors!

May you have a wonderful weekend!!!

Di, thank you. I just loved him, and could not believe how he hung around most of the day. Something about nature that helps me believe in miracles.:) xoxo

Carolyn, There really was something special about him, not sure if I needed something special today or if he was needing to feel special - either way, he made my day. Thank you! xoxo

Gail, wasn't he just PERFECT! xoxo

Beautiful - you are right, his face is very sweet. But what do you mean he had a good life? Did he die?

He did look like he was posing and smiling, so cute.

I just saved one of those little fella's from ants. They had got him on the ground, I removed the ants and put him in a safe place and gradually he uncurled from their bites and later on he could fly off, I was so happy.

Thank you so much for coming by "The Attic" and leaving a comment. I really appreciate it!

DJ, I bet the little guy was very thankful to your for delivering him from a terrible fate. I have never seen one up close until this one. So much beauty in such a small creature. Nature is always showing me something beautiful. Thanks so much for the visit. xoxo

Hello there

I am Delwyn from A hazy moon in Australia and as we have a moon in common I was tempted to visit you from Margaret's place, and I am glad I did.

He is definitely smiling at you...such iridescent beauty. We don't see many dragonflies where I live so I enjoyed your pictures a lot.

Thank you

Happy days

Oh, wow.
He's gorgeous.
I could have never gotten that close, I'm glad you did, he's beautiful.

I'm actually pretty terrified of dragonflies for some reason. Actually just two weeks ago I was about to get out of my car to head into work when I saw two dragonflies flying outside of my car back and forth outside my door. Anyway, I ended up being 10 minutes late to work because I was too scared to get out of my car. They didn't write me up once I explained it to them though, they just laughed.

Delwyn, So happy that you stopped by for a visit. Margaret has some some wonderful thoughts and wisdom to share in her blogs.
Glad you enjoy the little dragonfly - he is pretty special. Hopefully, he'll stop by again for a visit, but if not, I am thrilled to have had to pleasure of his company for a short time.:) xoxo

Robin, I can understand your fear, we all have our fears, mine just doesn't happen to be bugs. Now snakes, that's another story. I can fly to the moon all by myself if I see any kind of snake, poison or not.
Glad they didn't write you up at work.

Shopegirl28, thanks a lot for the visit today. He wanted to have some good pics for the blog.:) xoxo

lv Sadovsky Photography, Thank you very much!!! I am always thrilled when I get some decent photos with my little point and shoot camera. I have a nicer one, but not the patience I need to take good pics when I need to hurry.:) Thanks so much for stopping by. xoxo

Melissa, they are soooo cute!:) I admit, I had never seen the face of a dragonfly up close, until this little dude. Was so happy to capture it. I took some face shots, but they did not come out, too much sun in that direction at the time. Thanks so much! xoxo

Great pics. I just recently saw the BBC television series, "Planet Earth" and it was fantastic. It really rekindled my fascination with nature. It's funny how sometimes we forget how powerful and complicated nature is.

I can't wait to show these to my hubby... He just took abt 50 shots of some strange little hovering guy that hung out with us for a while in the backyard. You dude is way prettier though.

Love that thought for the day... Pretty powerful.

Slices of Beauty, He is isn't he! :) xoxo

Des, I think that nature holds the secret to all of life's problems.:) It is the one area of this world where I see and feel God without having any questions. Nature makes sense to me, whereas people seldom do, to me.:) xoxo

Erin, so glad you enjoyed him. I just love bugs. I am always in awe of how they are all so different. This was my first up close and personal experience a dragonfly. I do find them hard to get a good picture of, they move so fast. xoxo

I love your little dragonfly "the dude"! Beautiful pictures! I worked at a water gardening store in my early 20's, and the dragonflies delighted me daily in the summertime. When I was swimming in Manatee Springs a couple of weeks ago, one landed on my head hung out for a few minutes. He must have sensed I was a fan. (I even have a dragonfly tattoo)
