Joy of Spring

(my favorite drink: pomegranate juice and club soda)

I am already waiting for Spring. I am tired of the cold, snow, and dreary days that linger longer than I would like. I know, I know, I should just enjoy the moment. Winter was at one time, my favorite season. I am craving warmer and sunnier these days.

The birds
brought seeds
and flowers and bits
of brightly colored
string and placed them in
her hair while she slept so
that she would remember
the wild joy of
spring
when she
finally
awoke.
~Brian Andreas

This prose made me desire the warmth even more, and reading it gave me the feeling of lightness, whatever that means. :)

I'm with you. As much as I love the fresh fallen snow on the ground, making snow angels or having a snowball fight, I am SO ready for Spring and more sunshine! :)

Hey there, Six!
That cool, refreshing drink looks SOOO yummy! I must have one... Stat!

And I really enjoyed this combo of painting and prose. They play quite well together. I'm curious, is the artwork a Lempicka piece? Looks like it to me, but I'm no expert!

The poem is such a beautiful sentiment of both nature and Spring. I love whenever animals are portrayed as the innocent, benevolent creatures I believe them to be.

Thank you for this joyful and very spirit-warming post! :)

Beautiful poem, & I love the new header! I wish I were on a deserted beach or warm sunny porch reading a book and drinking a fruity drink. You know, I'm going through the same thing that you are this winter. I'm constantly cold, and the huge amounts of rain and gray skies are really getting to me this year. It's not a depressive state like seasonal affective disorder (although when I worked in an office, I suffered from it because I didn't see daylight). I'm just not very active and not as productive. It's bugging me. I don't know what has changed, but I think I need to move to a warmer climate.
