Friday Reflections

The weekend looks rather busy for me, I have family coming on Monday. I need to stay in the house and get some things completed, but I am having a problem staying indoors. Maybe I need it to rain. :)

I am very mad at myself right now. I worked on scraping my front porch two days ago and I guess it spooked Merci (the Ferrell Cat) she has moved the kittens. I've never had cats and I guess I have a lot to learn. I keep going to the door to see if she is there for her dinner. I drove all over the neighborhood late at night, thinking, since they come out late at night they might be out somewhere. I have actually said a couple of prayers for them to find their way back. I MISS them like something CRAZY.

It is baffling to me how someone or something can make an appearance into your life and world and you are never again the same. I never got to pet or hold her, yet, she and her kittens stole my heart. :)

Today, I am contemplating... what it was she was sent to teach me?

A couple of pictures I took yesterday.

I've been putting food out, no sign of any of them, yet. I'm not giving up hoping... I was waiting on her to wean them so I could have her caught and neutered. Life just seems sadder right now. Thanks for stopping by.

Have a beautiful weekend!

I am so sorry to hear about the kitties. You had no way to know that working on the porch would scare her. She will probably be back...I bet she hasn't gone far.
I just said a prayer to St. Francis, the patron Saint of Animlas and St. Anthony, the Patron Saint of the lost. Please keep us posted.

Carolyn, I hope so!:) I bought some more fish for the pond yesterday. :) Hopefully, that doesn't mess it up, it has done so great this year. However, a raccoon knocked off a tomato plant last weekend, it feel into the pond. I had to clean it, and was really afraid it might kill the fish with the dirt having fertilizer in it. I guess getting it cleaned fast helped, cause they all survived. Have a great weekend, my friend. xOx

Gail, thanks. Last summer I spent every day sitting at the hospital (10 1/2) weeks. So, I didn't get to do anything last summer, being a year behind made for a lot more work.:) Amazing how fast it can get out of hand. :) Wishing you a lovely weekend! xOx

I love that you are wondering what mama cat was trying to teach you. It really does seem that she came into your life for a reason. I hope you find it, and I hope she finds her way back to you.

oh, the mommie and babies! surely they will return to you and all your love - not to mention great feasts - i so hope they do! please keep us posted - but perhaps they have wondered to another's home where they will be well cared for, as well - but i know what you mean about the brevity of their being there and yet how much they are missed now - and i'm sure they were sent to you for a reason - for you and for them - look at the love exchanged - a rare gift -

just saw word verification - PROWMV - prowl - so maybe the KAT FAMILY is just taking a brief walk down the trail - prowling around a bit! ;)

have been gone so much lately - away and on the road and then most recently major computer issues and have only my laptop till my desktop comes back after being checked for hackers and viruses - ugh!

anyway - have a wonderful week and visit!

What a story, loved reading all the comments. I too had Ferrell kitties at my house two yrs ago.
I opened the doors every morning welcoming the unknowing kittens in the house closer and closer each day. well one day one came in and i closed the door. ( i do have kitties) I stupidly try to pick it up a day later, she bit so hard, I remember thinking they were just so cute, they didnt really look Ferrel.
anyway, it took another day to get her out, back with Mommy and siblings, they lived under my porch for more than a yr. The little ones grow up and move on.
As for yours, im sure like others said the mother knows where the food is. She will come back.
No great answer, but I understand totally how you feel :)
Best to you
Kate
