A Little Decoupage Never Hurts

I've been so busy, had company for a week and just not feeling the love for blogging as of late. The heat has been in the triple digits for so long, I do not remember when it was not. Going outside is torture - bug bites and the feel of a heat gun running across your body. I've been watering my plants three times a day, just trying to keep them alive, but the heat is doing extreme damage to them and I'm about to give up on them. I may just start watering the bushes I planted this year, and let everything else go. :(

Showing some projects I completed in the past couple of weeks.

A shelf decoupaged with old pages of Pride and Prejudice for my little Ada;
The book was an old Readers Digest that had a lot of pages missing - so, no book harmed in the making of this functional art piece.

Love Elizabeth Taylor, had a table that was really damaged - used a section on Elizabeth that was in the paper after she passed away. This is lovelier IRL. :) Perfect little table in my walk-in closet.

A crochet purse for Ada. It is just the cutest thing.

Another Ada Purse.

I hope everyone is staying safe and cool in this summer heat.

You have been busy. Every thing is so unique. I love decoupage. I have even decoupaged my recycle cans box!

The first one reminds me of a theatre - those people look like they were on stage. :)

I'm sorry for the plants :( It was horribly hot here too, but now I'm wearing long sleeves again ... no real summer.

Hi Gail! What a great idea to decoupage recycle bins/boxes. I'm going to have to look for something and do that myself. xOx

Poppy, would love to be experiencing European weather, it has been record breaking and dangerously hot here this summer. I'm ready for a break. I loved German weather, no real extreme weather in summer or winter, not like here. Hope you have a beautiful weekend. xOx

Laura, I'm looking for that cool place.:) I hope it cools off soon, not likely, August is usually the worst. It's starting to look like fall, so many leaves are falling. Happy weekend...and thanks for the visit. xOx

I love the decoupage shelf with the P & P motif. One of my favorites. And the purses are adorable. You are so creative : )

oh, girl! what beautiful things you have created! i love them all - love love love the liz one - she's one of my all time fave's of all times! maybe because many many moons ago when i was living in a large southern city i was stopped time and again on the street and asked for liz's autograph - seems some thought i favored her a bit - and not long ago, i came across an old photo of me made during that time - a neat trip down memory lane with your post and my photo - and i've always had a thing for re-purposed pieces and found objects - and then, there are your beautiful little bags you made - which so remind me of all the little handmade works of art my fave auntie mae made for me when i was but a little girl! thanks so much for the memories, dear lady!

now, go sit on the porch with a big glass of sweet tea with a touch of lemon! and your pleated paper fan, of course - see you there!

Ladycat, thanks so much for the compliment. It's more that I can't stand to be idle. It seems to be a hard thing for me to sit and relax, something I need to get better at doing. Hope you're having a cooler summer than I am. This weather is something else this summer. xOx

Hello Beautiful! What a compliment to be compared to Liz. She was an amazing woman in so many ways, and oh so beautiful.
Sweetie, would love it if we lived close enough to sit on the front porch together, sip sweet tea with a mint leaf or two, of course...and gossiping about our lives.
How are you doing this summer? The heat has been unbearable here in Missouri. I can't say I have enjoyed much of summer, to hot to be outside. And unfortunately, I live in the city and do not have those big trees to sit under or a big front porch to sit on.
Sending warm hugs your way. xOx
