Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, everyone!

I've been watching the inaugural today, and I have had a hard time keeping the tears back. I feel so proud! But I am a big President Obama Fan!!! And, I think Michele is just the classiest... and a beautiful First Lady. My heart feels good today.

On another note, I've been a little busy lately. I'm ready for spring, though. :) It's drab and cold outside today, so I'm trying to keep the sun shinning in my heart and mind.

I have been working on a visual wall that goes to my basement. I am wallpapering it with pretty visual images from magazines. I thought what the heck, if I don't like it or if it doesn't work I can take it down and paint. Well, I'm loving it! I didn't want to make put extra pressure on myself, so just working on it when I have time and feel like working on it. Now I have to get the ladder to finish the top and move a shelf loaded with books to complete the bottom. I have small wall opposite it that I am thinking of making it a wall of quotes and poetry, (just writing them on with a sharpie).  You all know how I love quotes. :)

It just makes me feel really good when I look at it. :)

I had mentioned that I wanted to start yoga and meditation. Well, let me tell you about it, I did and I LOVE it. Omg, why did I procrastinate for so long? The first few days, I thought I can't do this, but I've come a long way, baby, with a long way to go. But some of it is starting to feel really good when I do it. I can almost touch my head on my knees. YEAH!!! And I bought a couple of audio books to listen to at night, Deepak Chopra and Dr. Wayne Dyer. I can't tell you how much I love both of them. Also, I used to listen to Yanni a lot, I found him to be so comforting and soothing to listen to, not to mention that I am in love with him. In my next life...he is all mine. LOL

Made some mini banana muffins yesterday. Haven't made them in a long time, forgot how good they are. I usually add nuts, didn't have any, they were still delicious.

You can find the recipe here: Wicked Delicious

I followed this recipe exactly, just did not add the crumb topping.

A few inspirational quotes. Was playing with my phone the other night after going to bed and got a few pictures to use for some awesome quotes.

I thought of you earlier when I drank some carrot juice. It was good, and I was refreshed. Now along come your banana muffins, which look delectable! I'm not a big fan of most banana breads, but I have one recipe that is fabulous. It's from the first Moosewood Cookbook, which dates back to...well, certainly last century. I don't know if you're familiar with it. At some point, I could type the recipe here. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts about converting it to muffins. I'm a sucker for mini versions of tasty treats.

I share some of your interest in Yanni, although I haven't thought about him for awhile. I have a wonderful DVD of a concert he did at the Acropolis a number of years back. If you've never seen it, it's well worth trying to track it down. Oh yes.

Today was, indeed, a lovely day with the inaugural festivities. I'm also a fan of our President and First Lady, and I aways enjoy any photos that capture their love and affection for each other and their children.

The next time I'm able to spend a bit of time here on your blog, I'll take a closer look at your special project that you shared here. It looks intriguing!

I had some carrot juice yesterday, too. I've been having a glass almost every day. It feels so healthy to drink it. :) I still haven't experimented with other combos, got to try some others soon. :)

Like you, I had not listened to Yanni in a long time. I had all of his cd's when I lived in Germany, but unfortunately, the packers wanted my cd's and they did not make it back to the states in the move back. I had forgotten how much I loved him...and how sexy gorgeous I thought he was. Gosh, I'm going to be busy in my next lives. LOL I've been trying to listen to some soothing stuff after I go to bed, hoping to find something to help me sleep. It has helped.

Always love your visits. I'm not a great blogger, I tend to blog only when I feel like blogging. :( So, don't think I am be evasive if I don't respond right away. I will try to get on email today and send you my email address.

Have a great rest of the day and week, sweet lady.

Your wall is such a great idea and I really like the look of it. I think the quote wall is perect...you know I love quotes, too. And Wayne Dyer is my all time fave quote maker. I so enjoy listening to him speak.

Hello, Cat!

Oh yes, quotes keep me going at times. :)

I have found it to be relaxing and comforting to listen to self-help audio books after going to bed, more so than reading. Reading, I start feeling really sleepy but can't go to sleep. Listening to the audio seems to relax me more. I'm loving Deepak Chopra also.

Wishing you a beautiful weekend.
