Update...Miscellaneous Things

Wow ! It has been a while since I posted. I've been busy trying to get some things made to get my Etsy handmade shop going. And making things for my kiddos, which I enjoy doing so very much.
I'm very thankful for being able to make things.

Dutch Baby Pancakes this morning.

My healing is coming along. I am so grateful that I have no paralysis from my surgery, and the numbness is gone. They expected it to take up to two years for the numbness to go away, and didn't know if it would every go away. It is so wonderful to feel my face again.

I have started some of my medicine to hopefully help with the symptoms; as of yet, I can't tell they make a difference. I was so hoping the one to help produce saliva would do something. And since the two medicines I am on are costing almost $500 a month, I wanted it to work miracles. Because I lived with this disease for so many years without treatment, they do not know if I ever be able to produce saliva again. I can't tell you how miserable it is to need a drink every few seconds, not to mention how hard it is to sleep. I have been sleeping a little better, but for about five years I have been waking up every 10-20 min. needing a drink. I can't swallow anything without having a drink with it. Makes life uncomfortable and very inconvenient. :(

I'm still believing for a miracle !!!

All in all, I am so very thankful to have had the best doctors, and two of the most amazing surgeons the universe could offer. And I cannot express my gratitude enough for Truman Hospital. I know I do this in almost every post, but I feel the need to express my gratitude in every thing I say and do.

One daughter and family was home for Thanksgiving, It was so wonderful !!! I was a bit fearful of not feeling up to cooking Thanksgiving and needing to be in bed, but I was up the entire time and cooked a great dinner. Not a lot of stuff, but the things we like the most. That worked out well anyway, I don't have a very large refrigerator and no place to keep a lot of leftovers. Having my two beautiful grand -kids here was awesome. So much to be thankful for.

week in review

I'm so happy, finally there are vines growing on my old bike. I've tried getting this magic to happen for a couple of years, no such luck. Well, this year my luck has changed and there are morning glories growing on the bike. Not convinced they are going to bloom, not sure they are getting enough sun...always hopeful, though.

Had my kids home last week! YES!!!! It's very rare for them to be home at the same time, all of them. It felt like heaven having them all here. The kids are growing up too fast to suit me, but what can you do to stop it.?. They tend to grow faster when you see them only once a year, if you are lucky. The ones living in Denver come home more often than the ones in North Carolina, but just thankful that I got to see them this summer.

rainy day wednesday

rain, rain, go away...come again another day. i need a boat to go from the front door to the car, so much rain. and still, it is cool outside, only 60 degrees today, the fifth of june.

yesterday the door bell rang, it was Fed Ex with a package. i had mentioned to my daughter a while back that i needed to buy some new sheets. she surprised me with a new organic cotton set of beautiful sheets. i try to be careful about mentioning wanting something to my girls, cause it will show up. my dryer quit working last november, so i am hanging everything out to dry, so have to wait until it stops raining before i can wash and dry them. just waiting, can't wait to sleep between these beautiful sheets.

Wow, can you all believe it is a New Year!?

Christmas is over and I am ready for spring. :) Once Christmas and New Year has come and gone, I'm ready for sunshine and warm air. We had a couple of snows, the temperature has been cold, but nothing too serious, yet. Winter snows are always so magical in appearance, but I really don't like the cold so much anymore. However, spring and summer brings out the bugs, mosquitoes, and snakes. Nothing is perfect, huh. I have a while before I'll be seeing green and flowers blooming in my part of the country.

This past Friday I made the most wonderful, delicious soup, yep, another soup. :) Red Lentil Coconut Soup, every bite just tasted healthy and full of healing, packed with the perfect blend of spices, and my taste buds did a happy dance with every bite.

My daughter sent me some new photos of her house. Due to D's health, we really can't travel, so I have not been able to see her house irl. :(

The horns were some my dad found on a trip he and my mom took on a trip to Florida when they were first married. They hung in the house I grew up in. I had them in a couple of the houses we lived in, but did not have a place to do them justice in the house we are in. I was thrilled when Jaime wanted them. They look just beautiful in her beautiful home.

I just love this space...I could do lots of dreaming sitting here...me and my morning cup of coffee.

One beautiful room! Oh yeah, I made the crazy quilt topper on her table. :) I'm so loving it in this room.



She made this delicious focaccia bread yesterday. Going to have to try this myself. She said it was delicious! She made a dipping oil to go with it, a recipe a restaurant gave to her. Recipe for the bread is from Williams Sonoma. She is an awesome cook!

They spent time in Utah over the holidays, skiing and snowboarding. My two awesome grand kids!!! I LOVE and ADORE these two so much. I miss being with them and watching them grow. I thank God every day they have the wonderful parents they have. And that guy in the center, he is just the most awesome guy!!! I love this guy! My daughter could not have found a more wonderful guy.

Today I am thankful she provided me with photos to blog. :))
I have something else to blog, but I've been having trouble with blogger all weekend and blogger doesn't want to play nice. :)
